LEARNING METHODS TRAINING Interview is a good way to develop their abilities of communication,so we should help them to learn how to interview people. Students should be taught how to guess the meaning of a new word. TEACHING AIDS Multimedia computer or a tape recorder TEACHING PROCESS Step 1 Revision Show the title of this unit on the screen or write down the title of this unit on the blackboard.We have just learned L63.The title is “LIFE IN THE SEA” .What does the word “life”stand for in L63?(Animals, such as fish,whales and so on in L63). The title of this unit is”Life in the future”.It’s about the use of the computers in the future. (The word“life” means social activities in English). Step 2 Presentation and learning some new words Ask questions about the picture and teach the new words: talk of,majority,goods,industry. Step 3 Listening (Books closed)Now listen to the recording of the dialogue and try to guess the meaning of the phrase“out of work”(do not have jobs) and answer the question:What is their future plan at this company?(A new factory may be built.) Step 4 Dialogue 1. Read the dialogue after the recording.Then do Exx.1 2. Deal with language points. 1)The sentences are used to express the possibility in the dialogue and then summarize. 2)Learn the new word”simply” 3)Deal with the other points by asking questions. 3. Do Exx.3 Step 5 Interview Work in pairs.Situation:One of Ss is the journalist;the other is the manager mentioned in the dialogue. Make an interview dialogue using the phrases in the box with your partner. Step 6.Discussion Discuss the possibility of the war between the USA and Iraq in groups of four.
