I have a dream
Goals:
1. Improve the students’ reading ability.
2. Let the students to master the language points
3. Let the students know more about Martin Luther King.
Teaching Procedures:
I. Lead-in
1. Show four pictures
What can you learn from the pictures?
In the pictures we can learn that the UN held the meetings to fight against racial discrimination. Everyone in the world wants to have a free and peaceful world and have equal rights, voting rights and political rights.
2. Show flash and listen to the speech
Questions: (1)Who made the speech? (Martin Luther King)
(2) What’s the name of the speech?(I have a dream)
II. Reading
A. Fast-reading
Scan the reading passage and decide which of the following sentences are true.
1. Martin Luther King ,Jr went to university when he was eighteen. (F)

Rosa Parks, a black woman, sat down in the “Whites-only” section in a bus and refused to stand up for a white man . She was arrested by police. King led a boycott of the bus company.
Questions: What do you think of Rosa Parks? Was she brave?

The form of the Passive Voice
be + p.p(动词过去分词)
1. 一般现在时 is/am/ are + p.p 2. 一般过去时 was/ were + p.p
3. 一般将来时 will/shall be + p.p 4. 现在完成时 has/ have been + p.p
5. 过去完成时 had been + p.p 6. 现在进行时 is / am/ are being +p.p
7. 过去进行时 was/were being +p.p
8. 情态动词 can/could/ must / may / might etc be +p.p
