SEFC( Book I ) Unit 10 Teaching aims: 1. Grammar: Learn the attributive clauses which are inducted by prep.+which/whom Teaching process: Lesson 37 Step 1. Duty report: Step 2. Presentation: 1).Deal with Picture puzzle in Part 2 of L37 and learn some names of sports. T reads out eight sentences and let Ss guess which picture they are talking about. T tells them the new names of sports if they don’t know. 2). Introduce them more words which refer to sports. volleyball, tennis, tabletennis, baseball, badminton, golf, skating, hunting, fishing, skiing, boxing, billiards, gymnastics, handball, hiking, diving, hocking, mountaineering, fencing, bowling, captain, referee(裁判) 3).Ask Ss “Which sport do you prefer?” Step 3. Learn the dialogue: 1). Ss listen to the tape (books shut) Questions: Which sport does A prefer? (horseriding) What about B? 2). Ss listen and report( books closed) 3). Ss read the dialogue in pairs. Step 4. Language points: 1).prefer…to…= like …better than He prefers swimming to riding as a sport. prefer to do ---May I come with you? ---I’d prefer to go alone. prefer +n. ---Would you like meat or fish? ---I’d prefer meat, please. 2).exciting: making you full of happy interest. It’s really exciting news. Excited: It refers to people’s strong feeling. It can’t be used as an attribute Paul was excited about his first trip in an airplane.
