Step 1.Add the words in the box to the family tree (1a) Ask the students to do it by themselves and check answers.And I think it’s better for the students to recite the words. Step 2. Listening (1b 1c.) For 1b listen to the tape and check the words you hear .and for 1c, listen and find out which pictureJiangTao and Tom are talking about. Step 3. Practice (1d) Ask the students to draw a picture of their family and friends. Then let them talk about it . And then let the students to learn the words here. Step 2. Listening (1b .1c) Give the students some time to read the words before asking them to listen and mark the answers. Then ask the students to remember them. Step 3. Listening (2a 2b) Give the students some time to look at the pictures first and then listen to the tape and finish 2a, 2b. Step 4. Practice (1c, 2c 2d) 1. 1c Ask the students to practice 1a in pairs. 2. 2c and 2d At first explain to the students that role-playing means pretending to be the people in the conversation.
