Unit 8 How do you make a banana milk shake? The first period Section A 1 (1a-1c) 一、Analysis of teaching materials This class is “《The compulsory education curriculum standard experiment textbook• English》”Grade eight Unit8 How do you make a banana milk shake? The first class. The main topic of the first period activities are arranged to elicit the students to target language and get a warming up touch with the process. A couple of verbs are used to describe the sequence of making a banana milk shake: turn on, cut up ,drink ,peel… Main language structure is: the use of the imperative sentence, through the studying to further develop the cross-cultural awareness and the using ability of comprehensive language . 二、Teaching aims and demands 1. Be able to understand western diet culture. 2、Process and method objects Through the task-based activities such as listening, speaking, reading and writing, skilled application of new words and verb phrases to master .Describe the process, to follow instructions. 1) Through introducing the production of food, and cultivate students' ability in real life, the life knowledge, increasing life experience, training practice ability and hand -on ability. 2) Through introducing the food production process, let the students know work hard, make them know not to waste food, cherish the work of others 。 三、Teaching Importance and Difficulty 1. Importance 1 ) Make them understand some new words and the process of making milk shake. 2 ) The language points: cut it/them up ,cut the bananas up. 3) Verb phrase; Describe the process of word order. 2. Listen and repeat Introduces the homeless woman to lead the important language –the materials and the process of making banana milk shake. 1) Show a picture to students, they must have sympathy to the old woman, so they should make the milk shake for her with me! 1ˊ Step ⅡShow the production and process of the banana milk shake 1) Show the materials to students . 2) Teach new words through the projector. 3) Show the process to all the students. 4) Make boys and girls taste the milk shake. 5)Ask them to tell us the feeling of taste Watch carefully Say out the process Drink milk shake 1) This activity let them watch ,taste and memorize the process 2) Create situation, make them explore independently and stimulate interests in learning.
