Ability objectives: 1,students can use the Present Perfect Tense to talk about their past experiences in spoken conversation. Teaching key and difficult points: Teaching key points: 1,words and expressions 2,grammar: present prefect tense Teaching difficult points: 1,how to use present perfect tense to talk about past experiences. 2,how to identify the differences between simple past tense and present prefect tense. Teaching process: Step 1: lead-in 1,show students a video of Disneyland. 2,ask students to discuss the following questions Did you go to Disneyland last year? Have you ever been to Disneyland? Can you tell us something about your favorite park? Purpose: by showing a video to provide a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere and motivate students’ interesting in talking about their past experience. By guide them answer these questions and compare the differences between “be” and “been” Step 2 while-reading 1,Ask students to find out the new words and phrases in this passage, and try to guess the meanings together. Purpose: through encouraging students to guess the meanings of new words and phrases, help them to develop a reading skill of guessing meanings. and form a good habit of thinking on their own. 3,guide students conclude the structure of present prefect tense and application conditions. Have/has+past participle Step 3 post-reading 1,show some pictures and ask students discuss in pairs by asking and answering conversations using the following sentence structures and make affirmative or negative answers. Did you... Eg. Did you go traveling this summer? Yes, I did/no I didn’t Have you ever been to ...? Yes,i have/no i haven’t 2,free talk. Ask students talk about their past experience by use the simple past tense or present perfect tense. eg,I went to HongKong last year. It’s an interesting trip. Teaching approaches: PWP/ TBLT Teaching procedures Step 1 lead-in Daily greeting. Greet students by asking “how are you today?” or“how was your weekend”. Ask students what is the difference people greet each other in China and foreign countries. Step2 pre-reading Guessing game and free talk 1,present two flag signs and ask students to guess the country names and say any information they know about these two countries. 2,give two examples of different customs and ask students to guess in which country people will do like that. E.g people always on time when meeting friends. People are often late for a date. Step3 while-reading Fast reading Ask student to read the passage quickly and check the answer in step 2 part 2 2.careful reading Ask students to read the passage carefully and finish the following chart on their own. Attitudes Being on time Visiting friends’ homes Making plans with friends 3,Discussion Post -reading Conversation practice 1,ask some students to share their answers follow the pattern of “ In Colombia, people are relaxed about time. They often drop by friends’ homes and don’s usually make plans to meet friends.” and then help them to translate the sentence. 2,ask students to work in pairs and talk about their attitude towards being on time and getting together with friends. And then ask some students to give their talk. Step 4 summary and homework Summary Teacher summarize the new words and expressions they have learned in this lesson. Homework Ask students to write a short passage about the customs of their familiar countries and show it in next class. |
