1. in the end 和at last都有“最后”的意思，但in the end 指最后的结果； at last一般强调时间的先后。例如：
①He came at last. 他终于来了。
②In the end we found the house. 最后，我们找到了这座房屋。
2. at the end of意思是“在……尽头;在……末端”指时间或空间的某一个终点。例如：
There stand two tall buildings at the end of the street. 街的尽头矗立着两座高楼。
