心怡123 Teaching aims: Goals: talk about past experiences, describe people, things, even ts and people’s feelings, using the attributive clause and linking words. 1) Talk about unforgettable experiences after learning the word “experiences”. Express the idea that life is made up of experiences which are often called memory. 2) Describe people, things, events, and people’s feelings(list all kinds of feeling like happy, sad, sorry, regret, angry, upset, anxious, worried, embarrassed, nervous, lonely, full etc.) 3) The attributive clause or the adjective clause. 4) Use time order: first, next, then , finally. 5) Write about an experience using the “past tense”. I. warming up Step 1: look at the pictures and see what the students can see? Ask the Question: what is important about the persons or the things show on the pictures using the attributive clause to say. Step 2: summarize about how to describe a person or a place. Step 3: language points a)what made them unforgettable? b)Learn how to describe people, things, events and people’s feelings using “the attributive clause” like the model. II. listening Step 1: read the instruction s and the two tasks to make sure the students know what they will hear and they need to finish after listening. Write the person and the situation on the blackboard. Step 2: play the tape. We can listen one or more times according to the need of the students. Step 3: check together. For part 1: at a quarter past five p.m. on his way to his daughter’s school. The car moved from side to side. Finished work and gone to the post office. Fetch his daughter(explain “fetch”). Step 4: language points: a) October 17th, 1989: how to write date and how to read b) Take place: vi不及物,没有被动语态(can ’t be used in “passive voice”) c) Be caught i (not use “by”): 困住 e.g.: He was caught in the rain /traffic jam. d) When /where/what/who/which/whose/how/how often/how much e) Blank:空白处, space:空间 f) It was clear to me now that I was caught in an earthquake. (“It” is used as formal subject形式主语) g) A team/group of people, a party of students III speaking Talk about the difficulty you meet in doing anything? Learn how to ask for help and learn how to offer help Language focus: a. create a dialogue=make up a dialogue b. promise to do sth. c. for fu /pleasure/money etc. d. well done mind(介意), miss(错过), risk(冒险), feel like doing喜欢, look forward to doing盼望 f. come on . g. Help. h. I am afraid. I am afraid not. I am afraid to do… i. Keep doing. IV Pre-reading /reading/post-reading b. natural disaster c. how do you feel about something? d. Situation Step 1: ask the students to listen to the tape. Get the general meaning of the story. Ask them to pay attention to the way the author tell the story. Step 2: what happened when the disaster happened? What the people did? How did they feel?(find some words about feeling, adjectives or verbs) Step 3: finish the tasks of post-reading. About item 1, learn to use some words to refer to something mentioned previously such as relative pronoun (which here), adverb(there here), pronoun (it here), indefinite pronoun ( both here) to avoid repeating. About item 2, learn to describe feelings, using adjectives or verbs. About item 3, imagine the result. Step4: learn to organize a story using words of time order. Step 5: language focus a. Flora heard somebody shouting.( somebody was shouting.) hear sb. doing, hear sb. do sth., hear sth. done(被动) I have heard the song sung ever. I heard him sing the song.(唱过这首歌) I heard him singing the song.(听到他正在唱) b. She looked around and saw Jeff running. “run !” Jeff shouted, seizing her arm. “The next moment the first wave swept the down, swallowing the garden . Hold on to, sweep away/down, cut down, pull sb . up, get to one’s feet , jump to one’s feet , above, below, for some moments f. Review” the attributive clause” and learn how to choose “relative pronoun s”: who/which/that/whom/whose a. refer to b. work out c. fill in/out the table/chart/blank V. Reading and writing Travel is important part of life. We should seize the opportunity to travel somewhere. How to use English to describe our experience of travel. What we see, how we travel, what we do? Learn to use relative pronoun (who, whose, which, that) and linking words(and, but, or etc.) Deal with some language points in the passage. b. Looking up at the large head and down at the large feet makes you feel so small.…. ( watch TV takes little effort.—watching, play basketball is good for your health and spirit. – playing.) c.
