Teaching aims Student’s Book: Listening Text “Freddy The Frog” Workbook: Listening text about “Mozart effect” Workbook: Listening task about classical music 1. ability aims a. Improve students’ listening skill b. Learn something more about music, especially classical music 2. language aims a. Do the True Or False questions after listening to the listening text in Student’s Book b. Be able to answer the questions after listening to the listening text 1 in Workbook c. Write notes and exchange notes about the two different composers in Listening Task, Workbook II. Teaching important points 1. Understand the listening texts, especially the two texts in Workbook. Classical music and musicians are something unfamiliar to many students III. Teaching methods: Task-based learning; individual, pair and group activities IV. Teaching aids: computer with projector V. Teaching procedures Step I: Preparation for listening to “Freddy, the frog” Read the directions and the statements. Make sure the students know what they mean and what they are asked to do. Step II. Listen to the story and decide whether the statements are true or false Step II: Listening in Workbook Listen to the speaker’s opinions about music. Then answer the following questions. Step III: Listening Task in Workbook Listen to the talks about classical music and the two composers Mozart and Bach, and be ready to write notes . Exchange notes and finally the teacher shows the right words on the screen Step IV: Enjoy the song “Right Here Waiting” |
