1．The Long Road to Success Senior students all hope they can study in university, especially a key university. The education of university is good for us, for in the university we can learn more and more knowledge and also can experience an interesting university life. In th opinion of most people, if one can study in university, one can be a successful man. That's why so many people want to study in university. Does studying in the university is only the path to success Someone is against this saying. Why? Take Thomas Edison for an example. He studied only three months in primary school. He studied hard by himself most of his life. To our surprise, he had made a lot of useful things for us and became a great inventor. Was he clever? The long road to success of Edison was harder. Although a university graduate is much more likely to become a successful man than others who don't study in university, you must study in university harder and harder or you will fall behind. Certainly whether you study in a very good university or not, you must study hard to learn more and more useful things and you will be a successful man. 2． The path to Success It is said that if you can enter a famous university, you will have a good tomorrow. No matter you agree to it or not, but generally speaking, it is true. But now, the reform of enrollment system of universities declared the more requirement of students, so more and more students than before could enter the university, and now, the situation turns worse because jobs become harder to find. University graduates, once called “the Son of Heaven”, now might face unemployment, not to mention those who are less educated. So if you want to have a good prospect, at least you must be a university student. You may talk back, “Nowadays, we have more and more opportunities, we can also get the success.” Though we are all lucky in the modern times when we have more opportunities, those who have not a piece of diploma have fewer opportunities than others, for every opportunity is equal for us. Everything is very cruel now, so don’t dream that something will be done without knowledge. We must study assiduously in order to enter the university we wanted. We should always keep trying and do our best in everything, maybe we will get success. In short, for many people, university is the only path to success. 3． Knowledge Is Power Since China stated the reform and open-door policy in the late 1970s, great changes have taken place in many fields. Today knowledge plays an important part in every field. Workers need knowledge to produce goods faster and better. Farmers reduce the time of planting by the latest scientific technology. And doctors make the patients become healthy by the advanced equipment. In a word, knowledge has taken up our daily life. Suppose you’re an illiterate, you can’t attract attention usually. And you may not have a chance to show your talent. As a result, it becomes very difficult for you to succeed. Please believe in my words. University is a good way you can choose. Personally I think university is the only path to success. 4． University---- The Door to Success Why are we so eager to become university students? Because it’s such an important step to success. It’s the only door which makes you successful in the future,. Maybe many people remain in the thought that “ All Roads lead to Rome.” But as time passes, each field is calling for professional skills. Especially the entry of WTO is drawing near, we therefore have to improve ourselves. As a result, high-class education is needed more and more badly. Just suppose if we Chinese citizens can’t catch up with others in science and technology field, what the condition will be like? We will not only fail in the competition with foreigners which will have a bad effect on the development of our country’s economy. If you want to succeed, either for the nation or for yourself you must make every effort to enter a university for it’s the only way to reach the goal. 5． University Is Not the Only Path to Success Sometimes, I hear some people say: “ If I can enter the university, I will be successful.” But I don’t think it is right, I don’t think university is the only path to success. Why do I say that? First, because a lot of collegians have lost their jobs today, maybe they are not skillful to do the job, maybe for any other reason. Second, if the people who enter the university don’t care about their learning, they will also fail in society. Third, the people who don’t enter the university can learn by themselves. They can try their best to do what they think is right. These people have much self-confidence to set up their own companies, so they can find the path to success, though they may have much difficulty. In my opinion, university is the best and easy way to success, but not the only way. 6． University Isn’t the Only Route to Success I don’t think going to university is the only route to success. Nowadays, going to university is more and more popular. Our parents always tell us “If you can study in a good university, you will be easy to get a well-paid job.” It seems to us that we have to go to university. The more famous the university is, the better. If we don’t, we will live a hard life, and no one can help us. After learning this, we make sure that going to university is the only route to success. But this is not true. First, success doesn’t mean a well-paid job. Marx was a poor man, but he was the greatest communist. Gandi lived a hard life, but he was the greatest man who Indians admire. Second, the rich men didn’t all go to universities. Li Jiacheng, one of the richest men in the world, didn’t have any university education. The reason why I write this composition is not that I object to the idea that we should go to university to continue our study. Generally speaking, the men who have studied in university are easier to be successful than the men who have not. More men go to university for their further education is a sign of progress of the world. 7． Don’t Stop or Never Give Up Many people think university is the only path to success. I don’t think it’s right to say that so absolutely. First, let’s suppose you have entered the university. Are you sure you are going to be successful? The answer is obviously not certain. If you continue working hard, your dream will come true and you’ll be successful.. Then let’s assume you failed in the entrance examination to college. Does that mean you will fail forever? Does that mean you will fail forever? Of course not. You still have much hope. There are plenty of ways to be successful, such as trying to find a job, etc. University is not the only path to success. But that doesn’t mean stopping studying. You should always remember never to stop lea5rnings. Knowledge is power! On the other hand, if you don’t enter the college or give up working hard, of course, you will fail. So in my opinion, university is not the only path to success. You have your own way to be successful. Just live and learn and please believe that you can fly! Don’t stop. Never give up. Keep on working hard, and one day you will be successful! 8． Create Your Own Road of Success In the past many people attended the entrance examination to college, but most failed. As a result, people thought the fewest are the best, that is, the only way to success is to enter the universities. Some of our parents have been implanting this thought to us since we were still in childhood. In actual fact, success is controlled in our own hands. Entering universities isn’t the only way to success. There are so many examples for us to follow, such as Walfgang Van Goethe, Micheal Faraday and so on. The saying “ All roads lead to Rome.” is well said indeed. My dear young friends, throw away the old thought, go ahead with full determination and create your own road to success!
