In our English class, we had a discussion about whether free music downloads should be banned. Some of them think that it is a common practice to download free music from the Internet. So it is against people’s wish to ban free music downloads. They argue that free music downloads not only enrich our life but also are good for the music industry, because they help increase the popularity of music. However, others do not agree. They think it is not advisable to allow free music downloads. For one thing, free music downloads are against the intellectual property rights of musicians. For another, they have a negative impact on the sales of musical products, such as CDs, which may do harm to the whole music industry. From my point of view, we'd better ban free music downloads in order that the music industry can develop in a healthy way. Who would like to invest in the music industry without good returns?

It is wonderful to be back in England. M: I’m so glad to see you again. It’s over ten years now since we left university. Text 3 W: Good afternoon! I’m calling to inquire about the four-bedroom house you advertised in the newspaper. M: I’m sorry. But it’s already sold. Text 4 W: When is the library open on Saturday? M: From 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.. Text5 W: Jack, have you heard that Mr. Black knocked down a girl and hurt her badly yesterday morning? M: Yeah. It’s ten five, and the flight leaves in less than half an hour! M: Calm down, Linda. Wait! Now I remember! I put them in the pocket of my brown shirt. It’s in the small bag. W: That’s great.
